Terms of Service
These Terms of Service govern your use of Lifexam. By creating an account, you agree to these terms.
1. Account
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Lifexam is for personal use only — one account per individual.
2. Acceptable use
You may use Lifexam to store and manage your own medical documents. You may not use the service to store documents belonging to others without their explicit consent, or for any unlawful purpose.
3. Service availability
We aim to keep the service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Planned maintenance will be communicated in advance where possible.
4. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the European Union and the jurisdiction in which Lifexam operates. Disputes will be resolved through the applicable courts.
5. Changes to these terms
We will notify you of material changes to these terms before they take effect. Continued use of the service after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
6. AI document processing — accuracy and limitations
This section applies to Lifexam's document processing features, including the upload, storage, and automated extraction of structured data from health documents. It should be read alongside the Privacy Notice and the Consent section of these Terms.
How document processing works
When you upload a document, Lifexam uses automated AI systems — including optical character recognition (OCR) and machine learning models — to read your document and extract structured information such as test names, result values, units of measurement, reference ranges, dates, and practitioner references.
This process is fully automated. No member of the Lifexam team reads your documents.
Accuracy and known limitations
Automated extraction produces useful results in the majority of cases, but it is not infallible. Errors are more likely to occur when documents contain:
- handwritten or partially handwritten content
- non-standard layouts, unusual fonts, or low print quality
- scanned pages with skew, shadows, or low resolution
- values presented in formats that differ from common laboratory standards
- mixed languages or abbreviations specific to a particular institution
When errors occur, they most commonly affect individual values, units, decimal positions, or dates. Lifexam does not currently detect all such errors automatically.
The extracted data displayed in your vault is a convenience representation of your document. It is not a substitute for the original. In all cases, your original document — as uploaded — is stored in your vault and is the authoritative record. Where any discrepancy exists between the extracted data and the original document, the original document takes precedence.
Your responsibility to verify
You are responsible for verifying extracted results against your original documents before relying on them for any purpose, including sharing them with a healthcare professional. Lifexam provides a correction interface through which you can flag extraction errors. We encourage you to use it — corrections improve the accuracy of your own record and help us improve the service.
What Lifexam is not
Lifexam is a document storage and data extraction tool. It is not a medical device, a diagnostic tool, or a provider of personalized medical advice.
Extracted data is presented for organisational and reference purposes only. It does not constitute a clinical interpretation of your results. Lifexam does not flag, interpret, or draw conclusions from your health data. Any clinical interpretation of your results is the sole responsibility of a qualified healthcare professional.
Nothing in these Terms, in the Lifexam application, or in any extracted data should be understood as a recommendation, diagnosis, or opinion regarding your health.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Lifexam accepts no liability for:
- errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in extracted data
- any decision made, or not made, in reliance on extracted data
- any harm arising from failure to verify extracted data against the original document
This limitation does not affect any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection law, including rights that cannot be excluded or limited by contract.
